Zip Lining Canopy Tour

On this website we will give you the information you need to make a choice between the different zipline options available in la Fortuna. Out of six companies in la Fortuna offering ziplines we will present 3 options that we think have the best price quality balance. Since they all offer different packages it is worth getting this information before making up your mind. Our prices are equal or lower than booking directly with these companies so no need to keep shopping.

Option 1 - Arenal Mundo Aventura
Very interesting and complete packages available here. Mundo Aventura is an extensive Ecological park with some of the most beautiful and breathtaking views of the Arenal Volcano, the Pino Blanco and the La Fortuna Waterfall. They offer two Zipline packages. One is The Big AMA and the other the AMA extreme. They both take maximum advantage of the unique geological circumstances of the area. The la Fortuna waterfall exists due to a volcanic mega eruption that created the huge canyon it splashes into.

So instead of just having the cables that go through the dense rainforest they have cables that span the whole canyon. These cables are extremely long (one is a staggering 0.7mi/1km in length) very high (300ft/120mt), very fast (50mi/70km hr) and give you breathtaking views of two waterfalls and the river that runs from them. What is the difference between the two options. The AMA extreme will have you experience seven cables which include all the longest ones. The BIG AMA adds 5 cables to the experience that will immerse you further into the tropical forest. Allthough these are not the longest cables they will allow you spend more time to admire the biodiversity.

There are 4 departures every day. Two in the morning and two in the afternoon. The two morning options will also give you the opportunity to go down to the la Fortuna waterfall before starting the zipline. Where entrance to the waterfall normaly has a cost of around $20 with this option it is free.

Other interesting additional experiences to enjoy are the visit to the Maleku Indian village. Seated in their Palenke (main house) you learn about their culture, art, and history. Interesting handy crafts will also be available for purchase. Close to the entrance of the park there is also a butterfly garden and a frog pond that can be explored.

Option 2 - 2GO Adventure
Offers this excellent package with a variety of activities at the best price. You will enjoy 9 cables with 11 different platforms. Rushing over and through the immense treetops you get to experience the right dose of adrenaline while being surrounded by beautiful scenery. At the end of the zipline portion of the tour you can do a 50mts high rappel into the impressive Canyon of the Arenal River.

A stop at the Maleku Indira village will also be included so you can learn about their culture and art. After the adrenaline rush you can calm down in the hotspring pools of the Montaña de fuego resort. Here there is always a fresh supply of volcanic mud available to give yourself that treatment that you deserve. Go adventure also offers combinations with some exciting river tubing and horseback riding.

Option 3 - Los Cañones canopy and Los Lagos resort
Adventure and relaxation all packed in one. If you were thinking about a relaxing day of lounging around thermal pools mixed with some great adventure Los Cañones offers the perfect option. In the luxurious los Lagos resort right at the foot of the Arenal Volcano they offer an outstanding zipline tour. The canopy route consists of 12 cables and 13 platforms, covering a full distance of 2.8 kilometers (1.7 miles), which makes it the longest and most memorable tour of its kind in the area. The cables' lengths vary from 50 meters to 500 meters, with different heights and speeds.

Paying for the zipline tour also gives you access to the first class Los Lagos resort. Experience the hotwater pools, Jacuzzi's, fast and fun slides for the kids (for you) and indulge in some glorious time wasting on one of the many poolside beds. You can have a drink and a bite at their swimup bar or enjoy a rich buffet meal in their restaurant. There are tropical gardens trails to discover that will take you to a butterfly garden and have you see many birds that are attracted by the lush fauna.
