The Místico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park offers a unique way to experience the Costa Rican rainforest. Located on a ridge facing Arenal Volcano, this 250-hectare reserve features a 3.1-kilometer trail with 15 bridges - 6 of them hanging high above the forest floor.
Your guided tour begins with a leisurely walk through the lower forest, where your naturalist guide will point out interesting plants, insects, and small animals. As you ascend, you'll cross the first suspension bridges, gaining elevation and increasingly impressive views.
The main attraction is the series of 6 hanging bridges, ranging from 48 to 98 meters in length and suspended between 5 and 60 meters above the ground. From these vantage points, you'll observe the complex ecosystem of the rainforest canopy - a world normally hidden from ground-level observers.
Your guide will use a spotting scope to help you see wildlife that might otherwise be missed. Common sightings include howler and white-faced monkeys, three-toed sloths, toucans, parrots, vipers, and countless tropical birds. The tour concludes with spectacular views of Arenal Volcano from the highest bridge.
